Been Awhile

Well it's been awhile, I guess no news is good news right. Well in this world that's debateable. But in any case we were on vacation this past week. We went to the outbanks, NC with family and friends. We had a good time and got to relax. Ted hung out in the pool and took lots of naps. The beach was a little far for him to walk over the dunes and it wasn't handicapp accessible. But we did make one trip there so he could see for himself. (i'll post pictures) He had a couple of really good days while we were there and we went driving and shopping. It was like an adventure for us. The kids were busy so we were able to do some stuff by ourselves and with family. We drove to the end of NC 12 and I almost took my escape on the sand. But chickened out cause only Ted and I were in the car. I really didn't need to get stuck. One of these days i'll go out on the beach in a car. We actually did that in Daytona a few years back. But NC, has wild horses. The thought was cool and we had a blast just talking and driving. The last few days he started to get a little loopy and not so clear. Not sure why this happen. Could be his kidneys, or just low blood count. It had started to go back up before we left on vacation but not sure if it down now. He is suppose to get blood work done on Monday, he told me yesterday he didn't want to do it. There really is no sense to do CEA levels i guess, especially if your not doing the chemo anymore. Because they will onlly be going in one direction. The last time he did the chemo it really kicked his ass and its affecting his blood counts really bad. So he doesn't want to do it anymore. On one of his really clear days before vacation he totally enjoyed not feeling sick and not feeling like his head is cloudy and loopy. We went to Home Depot holding hands and laughing. It had been awhile since we had a day like that. He was full of piss and vinegar and it really seemed like he wasn't sick. We talked much that day and we agreed that he would rather be here mentally clearer for a shorter time then be here longer and not clear or himself. We see the Doctor this Friday. I"m sure either way they will do Blood Counts and see if he needs a transfusion. Yesterday and Today he is sleeping and getting some much needed rest.
