Numbers are good!

Hi Everyone,

The CEA Levels only went up 1 point. Yeah. That is good news. So the doctor agreed and we decided to hold off on doing more chemo for now. I guess it will be on a month to month basis. We really don't want to start more chemo at all, but if we have to we would rather wait till after the holidays. Ted really wants to be around and annoying the kids. He finally retired and told work that he was done. It has been a difficult choice for him but it was getting to the point where he wasn't able to enjoy going to work. If he wasn't up to it he spent the whole day in bed. Kinda like when you were a kid. If you didn't go to school because you were sick. Then no tv, no phone, (we didn't have computers) You had to stay and bed and get better. Well now he has the freedom, to get up and putz around the house if he wants. He can watch tv or just rest. It just makes more sense. It's gonna be tough, but we will get through it. It's our retirement years! I know what my nan is going through. *smile*

We are looking forward to the Holidays. We arent' going home to see family in NY like we usually do. The trip would be too much for him. So we are staying home for the Holidays. What a novel idea. Should have thought of it before. But we won't be alone. My Sister-in-Law and her beau are coming for Thanksgiving and my friend and her son and friend are coming to dinner also. Ohh and my sister-in-laws beau, thinks I can't cook and i'm gonna burn the turkey. hahah. Funny thing! I can actually cook and i'm actually pretty good at it. IT's the cleaning I hate! For Christmas, my brother and family is coming down. I can't wait to spend it with my nephews who are 3 and 9. It will be a blast having some little ones around christmas morning. My kids always did a good showing of being surprised. But they are teenagers now. 17 and 14 wow i'm getting old.

Well that's a little of whats going on here. OHh yeah I almost forgot. Kyle made Honor Roll. Wow the kid is amazing. Working tons, keeping his grades up. We are so proud of him. We are proud of Sam too. She starting diving and is doing great. Hopefully after a few more weeks of practice i'll post a video of her.

Well it's all been good news from here. Keep your fingers crossed and prayers coming. The counts stay in check and we can all live happily ever after.

ohh can you believe the insurance company won't pay for a procrate shot (helps red blood cells) now unless your counts are under 30. It used to be 36. Normal is 40-52. (for a man) Crazy. He has to be so anemic and dead tired before they give it now. Sucks. oh and yeah and it's too expensive to pay for on your own...like $1400 dollars too expensive.

Ok..think I'm done now. Love to all. Karen
